| OBP V0.001 shown to Crédit Agricole (demo) Hi Folks, Just to let you know we had a good presentation / meeting with 22 board members of Crédit Agricole last Tuesday! They were definately interested in the ideas we presented. We demoed a kind of V0.001 of the Open Bank Project: - a Scala / Lift web application getting data from MongoDB (MongoDB was fed by Python with screen scraped data from our bank account.) - a simple RESTful json api call. - an Android stub application consuming the data - various views (including public) on our transaction data! We were invited to visit their innovation dept in Paris etc. Simon

 | Nice visit / some code online :-) (source code) Hi Folks, We had a nice meeting in Paris with Société Générale today :-) For our meeting we prepared another demo. A couple of screen shots below: (also trying a new logo)
There are two components so far: 1) A Scala / Lift application currently using MongoDB to store transaction data. 2) A Python importer that grabs (via Selenium) a csv file from our Postbank account, parses it and pushes it to the OBP Scala API. There is some simple "mediating" / filtering to demonstrate the concept of showing different views of the data to different people. We published the code under Apache 2.0 lisense here: :-) https://github.com/OpenBankProject It was pretty rushed to get it ready - so its "warts and all"! Big thanks to Alex and Everett (and previously Stefan) who worked on this code. cheers, Simon.

| OBP Invited to visit Société Générale in Paris and other news (news) Hi Folks, Just a quick update. We've been invited to visit Société Générale in Paris :-) 27/01/2012 During the same visit we will attend the Bar Camp Bank Paris 28/01/2012 We've been in touch with Credit Agricole and we will also meet them on the 27th. On another note we've been hard at work applying for some EU FP7 funding under the title of OTTP (Open Trust and Transparency Project). If we are successful, the results of this will be Apache license so will feed into OBP. One of the use cases is with Banca Civica so this is effectively OBP but with lots more research around it. Re making this profile open, the work has been done. I just need to open/close some of the items. And will do after we finish our funding applicaiton on tuesday. :-) We'll also be working more on our demo software after Tuesday in preparation for meeting with Soc Gen! cheers, Simon.
