Some possible home page designs

Public evis posted on Fri, 03 Feb 2012 by James Morris

Please note: these are just ideas, sketches if you like... None of the colours, photos, text or anything really is set in stone. Just ideas I was trying out, I hope there will be many more too...

v3
This hasn't any colour, it was just more about layout. Obviously, colour would come later :)

v6b

v7b
The black space can be used to cycle through things worth shouting about... Our apps, Open Bank etc.

v9
This includes lots of photography that I just had to grab from various places, it is by no means what we'd use in the final design. It's just the concept, the layout really... Obviously still needs areas for the contact and such. But maybe we could think about having a single page website? I mean, how much information do we really need?

v11
Imagine this one being quite slick. The tabs on the right would move apart to allow for the content the user clicks on. Make it nice and smooth, could be kinda cool? It would require the content to be stripped back and rather minimal, but maybe that's a good thing. It's just a concept really, the photo could be anything. Below are three page examples.

    how about this http://www.enn.io/

PS: i'm not really into automatically rotating stuff, I'd suggest either the viewer change slides(like here http://sixrevisions.com/demo/slideshow/final.html) or having only one static image.

Hey Ismail, James. I like the Grapple page because of the distinctive font and the whole top panel changing. (the other links don't do anything for me.)

For instance, we could develop the text panel in v4b / v8 - and make that whole top panel rotate. As James mentioned, the rotating top panel could host the train, recent jobs and projects, other pictures (us working, art, the area etc).

I rather like the team picture - we'd have some to rotate some (i took some a while ago of individuals standing).

quite nice James, i like v3 with the black and white style. maybe add some Tesobe blue and we have all what we need on this page.:) maybe the second, we add a contour to the skyline (1px) with the TESOBE Blue. Would it looks nice?

Hello. I've updated this Evis with some more designs.

I like that style too Ismail, I think big bold photos can be very striking. But which photos could we use? Ones of the area you think? Arty ones of us working? ...I think the use of photos, even if it's just for "our team" is a great way to add a personal touch to the company.

Thanks for the link Ismail, I'll have another session tomorrow morning, see if I can come up with some more designs along that style.
